The Franklinton Financial Fitness program educates residents in personal financial management.
Like many center-city neighborhoods, Franklinton has experienced many economic and social challenges. One problem is a wide distrust of banks and government in this community – many residents are hesitant about participating in programs outside the neighborhood. Less than half of those who live here are high school graduates and there is a large proportion who don’t keep checking or savings accounts.
This free program is funded through a grant from the Ohio CDC Association and other donations. Addtional counseling is provided by partner financial institutions and other non-profits.

Completion of a financial literacy program is a requirement for many other saving assistance programs currently available through our partners. Graduates will be eligible to participate in homeownership, micro-enterprise, Individual Development Account (IDA) and other wealth-building programs.
